Yep, I failed.

Wellll, I didn't make it these last 3 days on just a dollar. I could have. But I ended up totally giving in to the power of Chick-Fil-A for my lunch Saturday. After I did it, my thought was "Crap, I have to tell everyone (Kacy, Danielle, Jessica) on my blog about this"...

Then yesterday, I bought a cup of coffee for $2.00

My total was $28 for the week.

I'm curious how this compares to you guys and how you spend money on food & drinks. (I know I shouldn't compare to other people, blahblahblah). Because after this week, I'm thinking I am this crazy person who is obsessed with eating out and getting drinks. And this week I actually did better than how I usually do. (Are you judging me!?)

Also, I am taking Danielle's words of wisdom and looking for how I can cut back. I need to cut back on how much I drink, but when I do drink, I need to make it at home instead of spending $1 or $2 every time I'm thirsty...

Here are my goals for the future:
Make sweet tea at home if I want it.
Make coffee at home instead of going out.
I really want to quit drinking sodas, but I'm just so afraid I won't be able to do it! ehhhhhh
Drink more water.
I want to have a budget of like no more than $5 a week on just drinks.

What do we think?

Day 5

I had 32 ounces of water, 12 ounces of Sprite, and 20 ounces of sweet tea yesterday. I had a Freebirds half-bird for dinner. So yesterday, I spent $6.40. So I have about a dollar to spend in the next 3 days......

Day 4

Ummmmmmmm...yeahhhh....

I spent $3.12 on lunch at McDonalds (you know you're not eating a healthy lunch when the whole meal costs $3.12)..and then I spent $1.96 on a cup of coffee. So my total today was $5.08. My bad... I can spend $8.36 in the next 4 days.

I just did real bad today. I had a large Dr. Pepper from McDonalds, 20 ounces of water, 20 ounces of Pepsi, and 16 ounces of coffee.

Tomorrow I'll do good! You'll see!

Day 2 and 3

Yesterday, I spent $1.00 on a Dr. Pepper at school. I drank 16 ounces of Dr. Pepper, 8 ounces of (free) Diet Coke, and about 44 ounces of water. I went to a step aerobics class for an hour.

Today, I spent $3.40...I had 16 ounces of sweet tea, 16 ounces of water, and 12 ounces of coffee.

My total so far is $6.56. I can't spend more than $13.44 in the next 5 days! I'm totes going to do it. I realize as I'm reading what I've had to drink the last few days, it doesn't sound like I'm doing very good, but I'm actually doing way better than I was!

Day One..

Well, I didn't do too great today. I spent $2.16. I ended up getting a sweet tea from McDonalds, and a Sprite later...but I did EAT at home for breakfast, lunch and dinner! That's a step in the right direction.

I went running/walking tonight too. 3.3 miles total!

Sunday, March 20, 2011

I have an addiction to drinking just about any non-alcoholic beverage you can think of. I'm not one of these people that loves Coke or loves Dr. Pepper. I don't take sides. I love Dr. Pepper, Coke, root beer, Sprite, Diet Coke, Diet Dr. Pepper, 7-Up, RC cola, sweet tea, coffee, iced coffee, iced caramel macchiatos, iced mochas, hot mochas, and any type of juice. I could probably think of more, but those are just my top 15 for you!

This is a problem. I almost always have to be drinking something at all times. I do enjoy water, but most of the time, I don't drink it. I drink when I've had a great day and want to treat myself, when I'm going on a long road trip (or a 10 minute drive), when I've had a long day, when I wake up early (even if it's just like 10 minutes earlier than usual)...and most of all, I drink bad things when I'm eating bad food. Don't make me drink water with pizza, or with hamburgers, and certainly not with Mexican food--I'll get cranky real fast.

People tell me not to keep it in the house, but that's even worse. Then I just drive to go get whatever I want. I don't even think twice about it. Once I decide I'm going to have something to drink, that's it. I go get it. It's probably the thing I spend the most money on, just drinks.

My goal: To not spend more than $20 dollars between now and March 29 (the day I move to Houston!) That includes drinks and food.

I don't know if this seems like an unrealistic goal, or if it seems too easily attainable. But I think for me, it's actually going to be really hard. I just want to be able to say no!!!!!!!

I'll let you know how that goes.
